| ruritan sponsored insurance Ruritan tries to serve its member clubs with the best possible insurance benefits at the lowest cost. As you already know, property owned by individual Ruritan Clubs (e.g., club buildings) is not covered by the Ruritan National general comprehensive liability policy provided by Ruritan. Our insurance agency, AH&T, is happy to provide certificates of insurance for covered Ruritan events. If an organization or person is asking your club to provide proof that you have insurance for an activity in which your club is participating, you need to get a certificate of insurance. (Please read policy information below) Example: If your club is having a Food Booth at the Sample County Fair and the Fair Grounds Committee asks you to provide proof or certificate of insurance; then fill out the email form, download and print out the form to mail or fax it or contact the insurance agency. A request can be made by completing the Certificate Request form (download below) and faxing or e-mailing with event information to: AH&T Insurance Jane Greenburg, Account Manager Phone: (703) 737-2232 Fax: (703)-543-0746 jgreenburg@ahtins.com Certificate Request (pdf) Certificate Request (Word – fillable form)
The liability policy does have significant exclusions and you will need
to allow 2-3 weeks prior to event to determine coverage applicability which
will be made by the insurance carrier. Please note that depending upon the
nature of the event, you may have to consider purchasing a separate event-only
policy if the activity falls outside the intended range of coverage. Please note that under this insurance coverage medical payments are excluded to members and volunteers -- these payments are reserved for the general public (attendees, customers, and so on). For all Ruritan Clubs who own their own buildings or land, it is important to note that the Ruritan Liability policy does not provide property or liability coverage on the buildings or premises. The policy covers the Ruritan event only. The Club owning the building and/or premises must buy separate coverage. If you rent or allow outside groups to use your buildings you should be sure that your building/property liability policy provides coverage for their use. Please note that these explanations are general in nature and are not intended to change the policy language or coverage. Thank you. AH&T Insurance |
